Mr & Mrs Chapman
28th July 2018 - Biggin Hall Hotel
On Saturday 28th July 2018 I had the privilege to witness Sophie Dodson become Mrs Chapman as she tied the knot with Phillip at the beautiful Biggin Hall Hotel, Derbyshire.
I arrived to find Phillip and his groomsmen hard at work getting the car fit to impress the bride before suiting up into their amazing tweed three pieces.
I then moved onto the bridal prep which is one of my favoruite parts of the day. Sophie was one of my most relaxed brides, if she was nervous it certainly didn't show!
Even when the weather took a turn for the worse everyone stayed optimistic.
Sophie's dress was one of the prettiest I've seen with stunning delicate lace detail.
The bridal suite was full of character boasting vintage wooden beams peppered with champagne corks from previous celebrations.
The bridal bouquet had the sweet finishing touch of a silver locket featuring two very special ladies who sadly are no longer with us but are still in Sophie's heart.
Before we knew it the time had come to get the dress on and we would soon be heading downstairs...
Sophie spies on her guests through the window as she finished getting ready.
Here comes the bride...
I was super pleased that the rain somehow miraculously broke long enough for a dry outdoor ceremony and stayed clear long enough for celebratory drinks in the gorgeous grounds of Biggin Hall.
The evening function was a short walk around the corner to Biggin Village Hall with spectacular views in every direction. Inside was beautifully dressed for the occasion.
The cake was a delightful tower of yummyness set up on a rustic log.
The evening guests started to arrive...
...and the real partying began!
The first dance had even me welling up. I find it difficult not to feel emotionally attached to a bride and groom after spending the happiest day of their lives shadowing them, especially ones as lovely as Sophie and Phil.
Last but not least it was time for a slice of that legendary tower of a cake!
And after a wonderful day and evening with such a beautiful group of people I was sad to be heading home into the sunset...
